Work, Reward, and The Economy

by Stephen Fluin 2004.03.07
An economy can only grow when by improved efficiency, or improved population allows for an increase in the total output of a society. This basic trend can be found deep underneath the day to day fluctuations of the economy and of stocks. Your wage will only be determined by how much work you can do, and how unique your work is. For this reason McDonalds employees make $7 an hour, and movie stars make millions a year. Neither job is necessarily kept away from the majority of the population, but the skill a movie star has is to stand out from the crowd and be unique.
