Pidgin Configuration Files under Ubuntu

by Stephen Fluin 2009.05.25

I was looking to copy the Pidgin configuration files today, and they weren't in .pidgin or .gaim as one would guess (and as is indicated in old forum posts.

Under Ubuntu (and possibly other distributions), the configuration files are located in .purple. I don't know why they are here, or where "purple" came from, but if you need to access or copy them, this is where they can be found.
