The Purpose of Life

by Stephen Fluin 2003.10.19
The purpose of life, not to be confused with the meaning of life, is simply to survive. All beings exist for this end alone. The survival of self is the only purpose behind each of us and our only motivation to do anything. This may sound horrible but the application of the word "self" is very loose. For example, self can mean all human beings; self can mean people like you (which would come from empathy for a similarity in genes). It is for this reason, that we eat sleep, have sex, and walk for breast cancer during our short time on this earth.
