Chromium First Browser to Add Extended Sync
by Stephen Fluin 2010.04.18In the chromium nightlies (join them with sudo add-apt-repository ppa:chromium-daily/ppa), some new features have recently landed that include initial expansions to the synchronization code. Previously users would be able to sync their bookmarks with their Google account. This was accomplished by using the same back-end as Google Docs. Additional functionality (or at least the menus for future additional functionality) have landed for the following data types:
- Preferences
- AutoFill
- Themes
This is very exciting, as chromium is the first browser to see these features natively. The bad news is that my initial tests indicate these additional sync types aren't functional, although they show up in Google Docs.
