| With detailed graphics and a kudos based
points system, Project Gotham Racing is a satisfactory game for X-Box
racers out there. The game initially appears impressive, but as the
game goes on you notice that there are only a few cities to visit.
Although the detail of each city is impressive, the tracks themselves
are simple and nearly two dimensional. The game also starts out slow
and does not reward those of us with skill above the average beginner,
everyone must race even the easiest levels to pass onto something
more of his or her own level. Kudos are what you must earn to win
races in Project Gotham Racing, and this is a nice change from the
normal fastest=best theory. Crashes need to be redone if this game
is ever to recieve any credibility as relalistic. A front end crash
at 130 mph will do nothing except stop you instantly and make your
car appear dented in the front. A more severe penalty for crashes
should be implemented. One idea would be to wreck the engine more
with each crash, slowing you down and providing an incentive to slow
down around corners. Overall, if you want a slow stroll through some
pretty cities, this game is for you. |
